Nodebot

Today I would like to introduce a project I have been working on during the last months. While I was surfing the net, I found out a really cool project from Sidigital.co in which they built a robot connected to the Internet where people could join the queue and play live with it. You can check it out on sidigital.co/sid.

Inspired by it, I decided to build something really similar. That is what I called “Nodebot”. Using a Raspberry Pi and some great technology like Node.JS and nginx I managed to send what users typed on a keyboard right to the robot, which is listening for orders. Then, I created the webpage with instructions and queue ready to accept incoming connections.

In a few weeks I will be publishing it so that everybody can give it a try. Also, I am preparing some tutorials on how to prepare and program the software and some of the odds I faced while creating the whole thing.
